About LocalJournalism.net
I bought this domain a while ago. Then, PlaceBlogger appeared. I think at that point, I had a Google Maps mashup with a very limited database. I decided to put the site/idea on the shelf for a while.
One of our first members contacted me and asked for a site that helped people share information about the grassroots journalism movement sweeping the planet. (And no, we haven't gotten into a debate here yet about what to call it. If you haven't noticed, I prefer grassroots journalism.)

If you're not using tags or taxonomy on your content, I urge you to start. Not only does it make it easier for people users to find things on your site (see the MFP 'Index'), it allows Google's robots to classify information from your site. I find a get a decent amount of traffic from 'long tail' searches.
Every so often, I study the terms people are using to find the site, and incorporate them into tags on the stories.
