River Country Journal now online

Greetings from Three Rivers, Michigan!

I'm pleased to report that my new venture with "grassroots journalism" is now online.  I began populating the River Country Journal on April 25th and have been adding content daily since then.  If you'd like to "check in out," go to www.rivercountryjournal.com.

River Country Journal, "Celebrating and nurturing life in Southwest Michigan's River Country," focuses on St. Joseph County, Michigan, which has been marketing itself as "River Country" since the late 1980's because of the many rivers and streams in the county.  My home community, Three Rivers, is an excellent example with three rivers that converge in our downtown area, a central business district that's been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1982.

Feedback to my website has been very positive, including expressions of interest in advertising and sponsorship, aspects of the operation still be be developed.  Toward this end, I'm working with the local company that has assisted with website development and hosting, plus a friend who has a strong background in print advertising sales and a passion for community development and communication.  I'm hopeful we'll be able to launch the advertising and sponsorship part of the business in the near future.

I'm using WordPress for the website and -- during my brief experience with it so far -- have been well satisfied.

I'll check in again after getting some additional time under my belt with the venture.  In the meantime, I would appreciate any comments, observations or suggestions you may have.

Best wishes!
